DTE Energy updates eBill Paperless Billing trial program

            • Encourages customers to opt in for online bill management,
              quick delivery and other benefits
            • Credits late fees incurred by customers on trials

DETROIT, October 12, 2023 – DTE Energy (NYSE:DTE) has updated its eBill Paperless Billing trial programs.

Previously, some customers were automatically enrolled in an eBill trial program. DTE has adjusted the program to require direct action from customers to opt in to receive its benefits.

Any customer who was automatically enrolled in an eBill trial and who may have incurred a late fee immediately following their transition to paperless billing will be credited those fees. DTE apologizes for any inconvenience customers experienced.

The eBill Paperless Billing program sends customers a bill via email versus a paper bill in the mail.  The program helps the environment by reducing the 175,000 pounds of paper needed every month to print customer bills. It also helps reduce the cost of billing; this ultimately saves customers money.

DTE encourages customers to embrace digital features that help them manage their bills and energy usage. For instance, by logging in to their account at dteenergy.com, customers can use DTE’s bill analysis tool to help them find ways to save. They can learn more about billing and payment program benefits by visiting dteenergy.com/billing.
